These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the services provided by Bellant Utility Ltd ("Bellant", "we", "us", or "our") through our website, forms, and any associated tools or communications.

Definitions

Customer

Any business entity engaging with Bellant Utility Ltd for energy price comparison or contract placement services.

Microbusiness Customer

As defined by Ofgem, a business that employs fewer than 10 people, has a turnover or balance sheet under €2 million, or uses less than 100,000 kWh of electricity or 293,000 kWh of gas annually.

Non-Microbusiness Customer

Any business that does not meet the criteria of a microbusiness, including SMEs and large industrial and commercial entities.

Contract

An agreement for the supply of gas or electricity between the customer and an energy supplier.

Aggregator

A third-party intermediary platform used by Bellant to access supplier tariffs and submit contracts.

Supplier

A licensed energy provider responsible for the supply of electricity or gas to a business customer.

Ofgem

The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets, the government regulator for the electricity and gas markets in Great Britain.

Energy Ombudsman

An independent body approved by Ofgem that helps resolve disputes between energy customers and service providers, including TPIs such as Bellant.

Target Audience

Our services are intended for UK-based business clients, including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and charities seeking commercial energy price comparisons, contract renewals, and supplier switching services.​

Services Offered

Bellant Utility Ltd provides:
  • Collection and review of energy usage data
  • Comparison of business gas and electricity tariffs
  • Facilitation of contract placement or renewal (subject to supplier approval)
  • Customer service and advice relating to energy contracts and switching

Use of Services

By using our website or services, you confirm:
  • You are authorised to act on behalf of the business named
  • You consent to the collection and processing of the information provided
  • You acknowledge that final contract approval is subject to the supplier's discretion​

Client Classification

Bellant Utility Ltd serves both microbusiness and non-microbusiness customers:
  • Microbusiness Customers are entitled to additional regulatory protections, such as clearer contract terms and access to the Energy Ombudsman scheme.
  • Non-Microbusiness Customers may receive more tailored pricing and contract options but are not subject to the same protections.
  • We make reasonable efforts to determine your classification during onboarding and tailor support accordingly.

Consent and Authorisation

By submitting a quote request or engaging with our services, you:
  • Authorise Bellant Utility Ltd to verify and process all information you provide, including but not limited to business details (business name, address, business type, contact information), personal information (such as name, phone number, email, and—where applicable—date of birth and home address), contractual information (e.g. MPAN/MPRN, current supplier, contract end date, tariff, usage history), and billing information (e.g. bank account details, payment method).
  • This information may be shared securely with relevant energy suppliers, aggregators, and authorised industry databases (e.g. ECOES, Xoserve) solely for the purpose of providing accurate tariff comparisons, performing contract fulfilment, or meeting compliance and regulatory obligations.
  • Consent to being contacted by Bellant Utility Ltd or its authorised representatives by phone or email regarding your quote request, contract facilitation, and associated energy services — including reminders related to renewal opportunities.
  • May optionally opt in to receive marketing communication, which can be withdrawn at any time.

Limitations of Service

Bellant uses aggregator platforms and supplier partners to access and compare energy tariffs. While we aim to provide the most accurate and current data available, we cannot guarantee availability or acceptance of any particular tariff.

Commission and Commercial Disclosure

We are primarily compensated by suppliers or aggregator platforms via a commission (uplift) built into the energy rates you pay. No direct charge is applied for our comparison or switching service unless stated otherwise. We may also enter into direct consultancy agreements or savings-based models by mutual consent. Direct Payment and Custom Agreements

Customers may choose to engage Bellant via custom commercial terms. These include:
  • Fixed consultancy fees
  • Performance- or savings-based compensation
  • Service retainers or ad hoc advisory engagements
  • Such agreements are formalised in writing prior to service delivery and do not affect our impartiality.

Contract Withdrawal and Compensation

If a customer requests a cancellation:
  • Before the contract goes live, a £100 administrative fee may be charged.
  • After a contract goes live, and Bellant loses its commission due to cancellation or clawback, the customer agrees to compensate Bellant up to the value of the lost commission.
  • All withdrawal requests must be made in writing.

Data Protection and Privacy

Bellant Utility Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO Number: ZB871160). All personal data is managed in accordance with our [Privacy Policy] and [Cookie Policy]

Intellectual Property

All branding, content, documents, and web tools are the intellectual property of Bellant Utility Ltd. Reuse or reproduction without permission is prohibited.

Limitation of Liability

We accept no responsibility for indirect or consequential loss. Direct liability, if any, is limited to the lesser of: The commission received for the specific service, or £500

Disclaimer of Warranties

All services and content are provided "as-is." We make no guarantees of supplier acceptance, rate availability, or uninterrupted service.​

Acceptable Use

Users may not:
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Use our tools for unauthorised purposes
  • Attempt to circumvent our verification or consent procedures​

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the courts of England and Wales. This applies regardless of whether the customer is a microbusiness or larger enterprise.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy and Commission Policy, form the full agreement between you and Bellant Utility Ltd.
